Festival of the Arts
Just weeks after opening in 2009, Studios on the Park co-hosted the inaugural Festival of the Arts!
And since that day, we've worked tirelessly to ensure that the Central Coast community and its visitors continue to have access to the visual arts. In three years, our nonprofit open studios art center has become the
"crown jewel" of Paso Robles
with eight working studios, 40 professional artists and two galleries on site. Major 2011 milestones included 132 collaborative special events, over 260 multimedia classes and workshops, 28 fine art exhibitions, and the Kids Art Smart program serving nearly 2,000 local schoolchildren. Through these and other efforts, Studios on the Park has fulfilled our mission of making the creative process. Through these and other efforts,
Studios on the Park
has fulfilled our mission of making the creative process available to the public while becoming a strong cultural anchor to the downtown and a destination for tourists and art enthusiasts. Some of the members of the crew from Artwineandtravel.com were there and filmed some of the festivities at the event.
Terry Redlin
"Americas Most Popular Artist", has given the world a great gift with his ability to capture on canvas the memories so many of us share...from our childhood and our family traditions to life in rural America. Over the course of his career, Redlin's style has continued to evolve from the wildlife scenes of the early years to the glowing cabins in the woods, to the children flying kites on a windy hillside. Every image comes to life with Redlin's magical ability to create a glow from within his paintings. His style, referred to as "romantic realism" is not intended to be photographic: rather a compilation of places he has been, people he has known, and memories he has shared throughout his lifetime. In this video, "A Conversation with Terry Redlin", you will meet the man behind the artwork and share in the experiences that come to life on his canvas.
